Australian climber breaks seven summits record by scaling Everest

An Australian man has set a new record for climbing the highest peaks on each of the seven continents four years after breaking his neck in a surfing accident.
Steve Plain, 36, from Perth, completed the ‘seven summits’ challenge in 117 days, after scaling the 8,850m (29,035ft) summit of Everest, the world’s tallest mountain, on Monday morning.
