Lethal pig virus similar to Sars could jump to people, researchers say

A lethal pig virus that shows similarities to Sars could jump to humans, researchers have said.
Porcine deltacoronavirus causes acute diarrhoea and vomiting in infected pigs and can be fatal.
New research suggests the pathogen readily jumps between the cells of different species, including humans.
First detected in China in 2012, it shares characteristics with Sars (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and Mers (Middle East respiratory syndrome).

Man killed after rolling car in rural WA

A man has died when the car he was driving hit trees and rolled in rural Western Australia. The 30-year-old was travelling along the Cunderdin-Minnivale Road in Watercarrin sometime after midnight on Sunday when his car left the road and crashed, and police say he died at the scene a short time later.
